Itinerary

Day 1 ARRIVAL IN DAKAR
Arrival in Dakar in the evening. Meet & greet assistance at the airport followed by transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2 DAKAR / GOREE ISLAND / PINK LAKE
After breakfast, departure to the port of Dakar for the ferry crossing to Gorée Island (approximately 20 minutes). Guided visit of the island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an important historical symbol of the transatlantic slave trade. Lunch and return to Dakar around 2:00 PM before continuing towards the famous Pink Lake, passing through the fertile “Les Niayes” region. 4x4 excursion around the lake following part of the legendary Paris-Dakar Rally route, with visits to a Fulani village and encounters with the local salt collectors. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 PINK LAKE / SALOUM DELTA
Departure towards the Saloum Delta, a protected natural reserve renowned for its rich birdlife and unique ecosystems. Drive through the majestic baobab forest of Sindia and visit to a traditional Peulh village. Stop along the “Petite Côte” coastline before arriving in Ndangane around lunchtime. Lunch at the charming Lodge “Les Cordons Bleus”. In the afternoon, motorboat excursion through the islands of the Saloum Delta, exploring mangroves and oyster beds surrounded by untouched nature. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 SALOUM / JOAL FADIOUTH / SALY
Departure from Ndangane towards Joal, crossing the palm forest of Samba Dia. Visit to local weekly markets before arriving in Joal Fadiouth, famous for its shell island, traditional granaries built on stilts, and unique shell cemetery. Lunch in Joal followed by an afternoon visit to the fishing port of Mbour, the local craft market, and the traditional fish drying area. Arrival in Saly in the late afternoon.
