Jozani Forest is one of the most visited and important natural attractions in Zanzibar. It is the only place in the world where you can see the Zanzibar red colobus monkey, a species found exclusively in this protected forest. Covering approximately 44 square kilometres, about 3% of the island, Jozani Forest includes a variety of ecosystems such as groundwater forest, coastal forest, grassland, mangroves and coastal salt marshes. This diverse environment supports a wide range of wildlife, including mammals, birds and butterflies.
