Spice Tour

Zanzibar is often referred to as “Spice Island” for its centuries of clove, nutmeg, vanilla, and cinnamon production.

Today there are lots of spice farms on the island. Visiting a spice farm is the perfect way to learn about how all the different spices are grown and processed. The history of Zanzibar would be incomplete without mentioning the cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, piper, saffron and many other spices which were introduced by the sultan of Oman.
